Sam and Chad's Scottish Wedding at Coleman Hall

Sam and Chad tied the knot on December 28th at Coleman Hall in Mt. Pleasant. Both of them are from Scottish heritage so they were clad in tartan. Chad wore a kilt and Sam was adorned with a tartan shawl over her gorgeous beaded gown. She wore an emerald colored necklace and her wedding band was even woven celtic rope with a green emerald! GORGEOUS!

They did a 'First Look' before the ceremony - which I totally love- because it gave them an intimate moment to see each other for the first time before walking down the aisle in front of family and friends.

Their expressions were *PRICELESS* ! SOOO adorable!

We even snagged a few shots inside the chapel as the sun was setting. >> Moody lighting for a romantic moment!

A bag piper played in the background as Sam's father walked her down the aisle to say the vows.

Coleman  Hall was decorated elegantly with pine, red berries, twinkle lights, wooden accents and candle lit lanterns for a rustic woodland theme. Just afterChristmas, they had bought a discount Christmas tree, tore it to pieces and used the greens to decorate the whole venue! How smart is that?!

They used jingle bells and tea light candles in mason jars for their exit!

After the wedding, Sam and Chad stayed for a week as their honeymoon at the Governor's House Inn on Broad Street. Today the Governor’s House Inn is known for its luxurious atmosphere and amenities that combine modern and historic pleasures. The historical significance dates back to the Revolutionary War; when it was built by James Laurens in 1760 on the site of the former Charleston Orange Garden. Located just outside the original walled city of old Charles Towne, the Orange Garden, which was believed to be the site of an actual orange grove in the late 1600s, was a park where concerts were frequently held. Sam and Chad asked to have a photo session after their wedding day. They wanted to document their moments as a newly wed couple as well as capture historical downtown Charleston.... with all the red and green garlands still decorating the doors from Christmas!

Both history buffs, they chose Charleston for their destination wedding because of the history of the city.... and because it was where Chad proposed! Right along the battery, at White Point Gardens under the sweeping oak trees, less than a year prior, Sam said "YES!"

A winter wedding they asked for, and boy did they receive it! This winter has been the coldest one Charleston has seen in years. Little did we all know that just a week later we would be shoveling SNOW-- breaking all kinds of weather records for the South.

Congratulations Sam and Chad! May your days be filled with joy and love!
