CO Vietnamese Food photo shoot!

While in Savannah this past weekend, I also got the opportunity to connect with a good friend and get some food photos for a restaurant's new menu items. CO, a vietnamese restaurant located in downtown Savannah offers lunch and dinner options including a diverse array of Pan-Asian cuisine, with Vietnamese classics like pho, banh mi, Thai noodle dishes, and colorful sushi rolls. CO also serves Charleston, and Myrtle Beach with their 2 other locations. They were looking for some food photos with more of a 'lifestyle' look including people. They asked for shots of people eating food, bartenders making drinks, and couples eating. I had an idea of the look I wanted to capture before I arrived. When I got to CO, I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of natural light that was available from the front windows. I was able to do the entire shoot using mostly natural lighting, a little bounce flash, and a few reflectors for bouncing light. Their dishes are colorful and the chefs did a great job with the presentation of plating the food-- which made my job easier. I added a few elements like sauces, limes, drink garnishes, etc. to fill the table and add color. I wanted the shots to have movement and appear 'fun' with creative angles and unique vantage points to flow with CO's branding of a hip, trendy place to eat. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the results...Take a look!
